Critical to a straight-forward reading of the book of Genesis is an understanding of the Biblical chronology and the conflicts raised by secular science and especially the fairly young field of archaeology.  As I studied what modern archaeologists so confidently asserted about the Bible’s so-called inaccuracies and contradictions, I especially wrestled with their versions of Egyptian chronology and the book of Genesis.  I have now read a number of books on this subject and things are not so conclusive as taught.  From time to time I will be listing books and magazines as they become available.  A grasp of chronology is indispensable if you are going to embrace a young earth.

What a tremendous book!  This book takes a close look at the history of the geologic column and raises challenging questions as to its validity and the need for radical revision.  This is a tremendous resource for the serious student of science history.  Uniformitarian geology was the whole reason the Mosaic record, along with the Genesis genealogies, was thrown out in the mid 1800s.  This book sets the record straight!

 

If there was one book I could recommend to the student for soundly establishing the Old Testament genealogies, this book would be it.  An excellent resource filled with lots and lots of nuances that the average reader would normally miss.  This book tackles many of the so-called contradictions raised against the Old Testament and shatters them all!  The serious student needs to have this book on his/her shelf.

One of the biggest mysteries for modern geology is how to explain the Ice Age (or ice ages, depending on whom you read). No modern weather scenario develops an ice age. Of course if the Ice Age happened when geologists say it did, then the Bible cannot be true, as the last vestiges of the Wholly Mammoth supposedly died out over 12,000 years ago.
