What does chronology have to do with
geology? Everything! The Biblical view of a young earth is
taught in the chronologies of the Bible. Since the mid-20th
Century Egyptian Chronology has been the ruling standard for determining
the chronology of history. There is a problem, however. If
accepted, the Egyptian Chronology would make the Biblical Chronology
untenable, as it purports to record a much older human history. It
is crucial that we unravel this apparent contradiction if the Bible is
to be trusted in all it states. Here is what Colin Renfrew,
Professor of Archaeology at Cambridge University had to say in the
introduction to Jame's book, Centuries of Darkness:
"...the existing chronologies...in
human history are in error by several centuries, and that, in
consequence, history will have to be rewritten...The first step,
however, is to recognize the depths of our ignorance. To realize
how the existing "chronologies" in different parts of the Mediterranean
are bolstered up by circular arguments, where specialists in one area
believe that those in other areas must know what they are talking about,
and blindly use dating systems which are no better than their own...I
feel that critical analysis is right, and that a chronological
revolution is on its way."
James et al., Centuries of
Darkness, Rutgers University Press, 1993, pp. xiii-xv.

Unwrapping the Pharoaohs

Critical to a straight-forward reading of the book of Genesis is
an understanding of the Biblical chronology and the conflicts
raised by secular science and especially the fairly young field
of archaeology. As I studied what modern archaeologists so
confidently asserted about the Bible’s so-called inaccuracies
and contradictions, I especially wrestled with their versions of
Egyptian chronology and the book of Genesis. I have now read a
number of books on this subject and things are not so conclusive
as taught. From time to time I will be listing books and
magazines as they become available. A grasp of chronology is
indispensable if you are going to embrace a young earth.
-
Written by an experienced
archaeologist who himself has wrestled with the
conflicts of modern archaeology and the Biblical
record. This is a fascinating book that rethinks many
of the conclusions of modern archaeology

The Geologic
Column
$40.00 (includes shipping)

What a tremendous book! This book takes a close look at
the history of the geologic column and raises challenging
questions as to its validity and the need for radical revision.
This is a tremendous resource for the serious student of science
history. Uniformitarian geology was the whole reason the
Mosaic record, along with the Genesis genealogies, was thrown
out in the mid 1800s. This book sets the record straight!

Chronology of the Old Testament
$55.00 (includes shipping)

If there was one book I could recommend to the student for
soundly establishing the Old Testament genealogies, this book
would be it. An excellent resource filled with lots and
lots of nuances that the average reader would normally miss.
This book tackles many of the so-called contradictions raised
against the Old Testament and shatters them all! The
serious student needs to have this book on his/her shelf.

Genesis and
Ancient Man
$175.00 (includes shipping)
|
One of the most disturbing things to my faith as a kid was
finding out that my ancient relatives were really not human
after all, but apelike! It literally crushed any faith in
the Old Testament. Later as I began to revisit the
validity of the Old Testament as history, I discovered a wealth
of literature that contradicted the current thinking about
ancient man. So, for the curious (and inwardly challenged)
parents and teens, here is a kit that will help you build a
solid foundation in the historicity of Genesis and of ancient
man. This kit includes:
-
DVDs - Apemen: Missing
Links and the Bible - Creation Ministries, Lucy,
She's No Lady, Answers in Genesis, Languages, The
Bible VS Evolution, Creation Ministries
International
-
Bones of Contention,
tremendous resource on human and ape fossils, Martin

study guide, David Down

Genesis and
the Ice Age
$170.00 (includes shipping)
|
One of the biggest mysteries for modern geology is how to
explain the Ice Age (or ice ages, depending on whom you read).
No modern weather scenario develops an ice age. Of course if the
Ice Age happened when geologists say it did, then the Bible
cannot be true, as the last vestiges of the Wholly Mammoth
supposedly died out over 12,000 years ago. And the Bible
definitely teaches a young earth. So, where do I turn for
another look at this real geologic event in the history of
mankind? I have compiled some of the most recent material that
will help you and your teen get a grasp on how the Ice Age
nicely fits into a straightforward reading of the Book of
Genesis.
-
The Weather Book and study
guide – Michael Oard. Mr. Oard is perhaps the best
resource for understanding what kinds of weather
patterns would have produced an Ice Age. He is a retired
meteorologist who has a grasp on what a global flood
would have meant to our weather patterns.
